Fitness and Pregnancy

There are many myths surrounding pregnancy and exercising when put together. Many presumptions have been carried down through the generations. These myths and practices have caused a lot of damage for many pregnant women in the past and in the recent times as well, when followed. While it is good to seek advice from elders, it is also wise to update yourself with the current developments.
Most women think that exercising while being pregnant could be harmful for the baby. This is not true as it is proved that during exercise the brain produces the happiness hormones in the body. These happiness hormones would affect the baby in a positive way as it reaches the baby thru the placenta. Also while your body produces the happiness hormones it also burns up the stress hormones.
Exercising during pregnancy can also help you retain or regain your stamina which would be much needed while giving birth. Exercising during the first trimester is not recommended, due to the risk of miscarriage. But otherwise once you get a green flag from your doctor it should be fine to exercise. A good level of exercise and activity for pregnant women experiencing normal pregnancy is recommended by medical professionals. This will also ensure an increase in your rate of metabolism making you want more of the quick meals.
Swimming is a very safe exercise that can be done throughout the pregnancy. There are many aqua natal gyms that are specifically for pregnant women. These gyms have specialised trainers who can guide with specific exercises. It’s also good to consult a midwife or doctor be on the safer side.
Walking is also a very good exercise that could be done while pregnant. Doing your half an hour every day can also ensure a good level of fitness and the best part is that this is absolutely free.
